SAJÓ BRIDGE ON SAJÓSZENTPÉTER BYPASS

The three-span Sajó Bridge, located near Sajószentpéter, was built at the beginning of the 260 road to descrease the traffic load on the town. Its structural system is an upper-deck, two-span steel-concrete composite bridge, with steel crossbeams supporting the reinforced concrete deck.

What makes it unique is that the entire superstructure was assembled in the assembly area next to the river, and then, with the help of hydraulic presses and temporary steel structures at the front and back, it was pulled into its final position. In addition to the Sajó crossing, seven other smaller bridges were also constructed on the bypass.
