MONOSTORI BRIDGE

The Monostori Bridge connects the parts of Komárom. Although the two parts are now in different countries, historically, they have always formed one city. The plans were developed by Pont-Terv Ltd. and Dopravoprojekt a.s. The unique appearance of the single-pylon cable-stayed bridge is given by the asymmetric arrangement of the pylon.

The five-span steel stiffening girder consists of two main girders and an orthotropic deck. The pylon is made of steel, partly filled with RC. The side spans were incrementally launched, the main span was erected with free cantilever method. Besides the two traffic lanes pedestrian and bicycle lanes are also passing through.
