M0 BRIDGE OVER THE DANUBE AT SZENTENDRE

The bridge of the the M0 motorway is a steel beam with the second longest span in Hungary. It carries 2×2 traffic lanes and a bicycle path.

The left and right carriageway bridges are built of steel box cross-sections with orthotropic decks. The ~100-meter-long elements assembled at the Csepel pre-assembly area were carried to site by barges, and placed on the piers. Transporting them was a special task due to their large weight and size: in addition to the water depth, it was also necessary to take into account that they fit under all bridges on the way through Budapest.
