SZENT LÁSZLÓ BRIDGE

The Danube-bridge at Szekszárd was built as part of the M9 motorway. In the first phase, the structure of one carriageway was realized with a 2×1 road lane and a cycle path crossing. The river bridge was designed by Pont-Terv Ltd, the adjoining bridges by UVATERV Ltd.

The cross-section of the bridge is a steel box with an orthotropic deck structure. Its elements were assembled in 100 m long pieces at the assembly area in Budapest, and these were then floated to the site on barges. The site erection was carried out by lifting the completed pieces onto the piers.
