The main element of the new pedestrian and cyclist link between the heart of Szolnok city and the recreation area of Tiszaliget is the steel Tisza bridge. The graceful bridge with its splayed arches resembling the wings of the mayfly insect has also become a symbol of the city’s development.
The river bridge consists of two tubular arches and a truss deck girder suspended with tie-rods. The key point of the design was the wind and pedestrian dynamics analysis: tuned mass dampers (TMD) were installed for the first time in Hungary.
