RAILWAY BRIDGE OVER ROUTE 2112 AT SALGÓTARJÁN

The railway bridge over route 2112 at Salgótarján is a simply supported truss with a semi-through cross section. The main girders are symmetric ’Warren’ type trusses without verticals. The continuous railroad ballast is supported by an orthotropic steel deck. The railway line is slightly curved in plan, but the steel structure is straight.

The bridge was built at the assembly area behind the abutments. The road below was built later – after the bridge was lauched to final position on steel rail-beams.
