The Lovász-háti-Channel Bridge is an open steel arch bridge. The deck is a steel grid of stringers and cross girders in composite action with the reinforced concrete deck slab. The suspension rods are high-strength round steel bars. The bridge carries 2×1 traffic lanes, pedestrian and service sidewalks.
The key points in the design of the open arch bridge with a simple, elegant appearance are the stability of the free-standing arches, the composite deck structure, the fatigue-proof design and wind dynamic testing of the suspension rods, as well as the “floating” bearing system.
