A significant amount of goods are being carried between the marshalling yard at Soroksár and the Freeport at Csepel Island via a one-track railway line including an important old steel railway bridge. This structure has become the bottleneck of the line due to its highly corroded state, therefore the establishment of a new crossing is of utmost importance.
According to the needs of the Clients, we proposed and designed a long single-span basket-arch steel bridge with the approach concrete bridges. Considering the high slenderness of the bridge, damping devises are also proposed in order to avoid any unpleasant horizontal vibrations of the deck. We hope that this long-awaited project will start soon for the smooth railway operation.
