The "Beszédes József" Danube Bridge at
Dunaföldvár was originally built as a dual
purpose road-railway bridge between 1948-51. The
bridge was reconstructed in 2000-2001. As the rail
traffic was abandoned, the deck could be replaced
with a new orthotropic deck, stiffened transversally.
The new deck was installed in two phases while
maintaining the traffic. In addition, on one side of
the bridge a cantilever was mounted for a bicycle
lane.
